About Charlotte

I have a very clear memory of when I first started to write. I was about four years old, scribbling wavy lines across a piece of paper, when my mum told me that what I was doing was “writing.” I was amazed. I was writing! A few years later I was sitting on a plane amidst a very bumpy flight. Despite being totally terrified of flying, and a teenager flying solo, the book I was reading (The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella) completely captured my attention. As we landed a little voice crept into my head and said: maybe one day, I could write book like this too.

Before I became a writer, life took a few detours. I finished school on an AFS exchange in Sicily, before heading to film school. Most of my twenties were spent working across the fashion and interior design industries, living between Australia and the UK. None of what I was doing was writing, per se, but all of it became fabulous fodder for future stories.

In my late twenties, I finally found the courage to do what I’d always dreamed of. I began with writing a blog, then built a career in lifestyle journalism and copywriting, freelancing for a range of publications across Australia and the UK - writing no.1 trending articles along the way. In 2023, my first book, How to Be Fabulous (published under the name, Charlotte Dallison) was released by Affirm Press in Australia and New Zealand.

Now, my focus is firmly on fiction. I am currently wrapping up my first novel whilst beginning work on my second. I have honed my craft through various selective writing residencies including Noce Fresca in Sardinia, the Weymouth Center in North Carolina, and soon, Cycladic Arts in Paros, Greece. I am also the graduate of a selective Curtis Brown Creative novel writing course.

I still dabble in lifestyle journalism and am a regular contributor to Margot Magazine. Alongside my own writing, I’m a trained Gateless writing teacher and host regular writing salons both in person and online. I also work one-on-one with other writers, creatives, and entrepreneurs, using astrology, astrocartography and human design as tools to help my clients reconnect with their cosmic blueprints via my Compass Readings.

When I’m not writing, you might find me travelling the globe, attempting to learn Greek, decorating my home, or reading books by authors whose work I adore.

I live in Seattle with my husband.
